When Life Puts You in a Waiting Room

There are seasons in life when the hardest question isn’t, “What should I do next?”
It is: “What am I supposed to do while I wait?”
We often hear the phrase, “Trust the process.” It sounds comforting—until we find ourselves living inside a process with no clear timeline, no visible progress, and no certainty about where it is leading.
Waiting is difficult.
Waiting while feeling powerless is even harder.
Sometimes life reaches a point where the biggest decisions seem to depend on circumstances beyond our control. Plans remain uncertain, opportunities are delayed, and the future refuses to reveal itself. The result is a quiet feeling of standing still while life continues to move around us.
Eventually, the question changes.
Instead of asking, “What should I choose?” we begin asking, “Do I even have a choice?”
That question carries a quiet kind of grief.
Many people assume that exhaustion comes from having too many responsibilities.
But there is another kind of exhaustion.
The exhaustion of uncertainty.
The exhaustion of not knowing what comes next.
The exhaustion of waiting for clarity.
It is possible to wake up every morning with an empty schedule and still feel completely overwhelmed—not because there is too much to do, but because there is no clear direction.
If this is where you are today, I want you to know something.
You are not alone.
More people than we realize are living in a waiting room.
Waiting for clarity.
Waiting for healing.
Waiting for an opportunity.
Waiting for a relationship.
Waiting for a new beginning.
I’d love to hear your story.
